A Rasta testimonial
by Ras Ansel

InI was somewhat of the “seeker” when InI was called by the Almighty. For many years, InI was blind to the touch of the AllMighty Jah-Jah’s wisdom and peace in knowing. InI had sought acceptance and glory in many apolitical “hate”-groups, thinking that the answers to man’s problems could be solved through the acts and means of men... This, however, only led to more confusion along the path, and a number of lonely years along the road of life. It was, after exhausting all the “humanist” means, and ideologies that InI, naturally, began to ask what had happened to InI relationship with Jah. What had happened to the little boy that was once so touched by the words of Jesus and his disciples? What had happened to that peace and tranquility that InI had once known so long ago? Did Jah really have a plan for InI back then? And if he did, had InI followed it to the letter, or did InI stray from that path to become lost in the world?

InI had been raised in the Methodist Christian church as a boy, and while InI enjoyed the teachings of Jesus, InI knew there was something more to Jah than white Jesus, and I began to research many different religious teachings within the Christian church. InI always found that for some reason, modern religion seeks to rob Jah of his glorious mystery and pageantry... InI soon stumbled upon some words of Haile I Selassie I Jah Rastafari! In the cd cover for a Bad Brains album of mine, and began to seek upon that route. InI had picked up a few songs here and there from friends who’d been into reggae music for years (InI had come to know of it through listening to older ska and rocksteady: Symarip, Clancy Eccles, Skatalites, etc...), and happened-chance to listen to a track entitled “War Inna Babylon” by Max Romeo/Lee Perry/The Upsetters. The song’s lyrics were so close to perfectly outlining how InI felt about the ways of men and man’s betrayal of man, that InI sought to know more, and began to research the wisdom of Ras Tafari. Might InI say that it was like the most wise have sometimes said, “To know is to know”. And that’s how it happens, bredren. It is the “knowing” that pushes fear, hate, and confusion to the side and allows I-veryone to be a tool of JahWorks. It is the “knowing” that is the secret mystery... All else comes in time.

That was about 2 years ago now, and since knowing JahLuv, InI have really put all InI troubles and fears behind. InI feel whole now, and InI feel that InI am giving back to those who helped to show InI the way. InI suddenly didn’t feel ashamed of having grown up poor, having been homeless, and a seeker on the way. InI hope each and every one of the I’s come to know the glory in serving HIM, and urge any-I with questions/reasoning to contact InI at: bluebeat@netzero.net

In HIM,
